Northwest Carriage Driving Events (NWCDE) and our associates welcome you to our Combined Driving Events at our
site in beautiful Beavercreek, Oregon.
This site is part of the Lazy S Lumber Mill that has been owned and operated by Ralph
and Merry Schmidt for over 20 years. They have worked hard to build this mill into a worldwide supplier of Western
Red Cedar. Not only do they sell their products locally, they also market in Canada, Asia, Australia and Europe.
The section 'E' portion of the Marathon is mostly on the property to the north of the mill site. Through the generosity
of the owners, the organizers were allowed to develop roads and hazards on this wonderful property. It has taken many years to
develop this course which now winds through woods, across fields and through creeks. A welcome additional property to the
north of the mill was acquired in 2000 by DeLano Farms of Oregon City and planted with Christmas trees. Some of this area has
been incorporated into the existing marathon course. Thank you, friends!
Extensive work has been done in the main camp area with many trees and brush removed to make more camping room. Overall,
this course offers many exciting challenges for the competitor as well as presenting visitors with a venue of unequaled beauty.
The organizers and associates welcome you to what they feel is not only the most picturesque of all Northwest driving sites, but
also the most challenging. Enjoy your time with us!!!
Sincerely, the NWCDE
Tish Hodges Merry Schmidt
