Bill Merchant
Vice-Chair, The Hamlet of Beavercreek
Bill Merchant, the current Vice-Chair of the Hamlet of Beavercreek Board, has been actively serving the community since the 1980s, back when mullets were fashionable and landlines still ruled the earth. He is involved in a variety of local and regional efforts, including chairing the Board of BCT, and participating on the Community Road Fund Advisory Committee, the Oregon Department of Transportation Region 1 Area Commission on Transportation (deep breath), the Clackamas County Committee for Community Involvement, and the Community Planning Organization Summit Committee. Basically, if there’s a long meeting with a longer name, Bill’s there!
A longtime resident, Bill moved from California to Beavercreek over 40 years ago, settling into a geodesic dome home nestled in the woods, yes, like a forest wizard but with Wi-Fi. He values the rural character of Beavercreek and is a strong advocate for thoughtful, responsible development.
In his free time, Bill enjoys cooking, exploring electric vehicle technology, practicing Tai Chi and Qi Gong, maintaining his timber property, and immersing himself in reading, music, and podcasts.
